Farris Tyree Courtney, 87, of Paducah passed away at 6:00 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his residence.
Farris was a retired farmer who had also worked in the tobacco industry for many years. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church in Paducah and he was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Medical Corps.
He is survived by one sister, Reba Jones of Paducah; fiancé Marie Babb of Paducah; three nieces, Jane Williams, Nancy Deweese, and Susan McClure, all of Paducah; three nephews, Mike Ferguson of Horn Lake MS, Larry Courtney and Kevin Courtney both of Paducah; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avery Ernest Courtney, and Radie Wooley Courtney; one sister, Charlene Riley, three brothers, Ernest, Elvon, and James Courtney; and one niece Tammy Courtney.
Funeral services for Farris will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, November, 28, 2014 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Mike Nolen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for Farris will be from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Friday, November, 28, 2014 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
