Ella Mae Cash, 97, of Fancy Farm, Kentucky, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Lourdes. 

Ella Mae was born on July 27, 1920 in the Wheel, KY community.  She was the baby of eleven children born to the late George and Nettie Bland Blanford.

She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and the Altar Society.  She was a member of the Fancy Farm Homemakers, the Senior Citizens Group, St. Vincent de Paul and the Mayfield-Graves County Garden Club and Farm Bureau.

She dearly loved people and always had a smile and kind words for everyone she met.  She was a true southern lady who enjoyed cooking and hosting events for family and friends.  But Ella Mae’s greatest joy was dedicating her life to her faith and family, always being truly concerned with their well-being and happiness.

Mrs. Cash is survived by six daughters, Pat Malouf and husband Alex of Greenwood, MS, Theresa De Sensi and husband Frank of Louisville, KY, Carol Higdon and husband Greg of Fancy Farm, KY, Marilyn King and husband Gary of Fancy Farm, KY, Kitty Elliott and husband Steve of Mayfield, KY and Mary Ellen Mathews and husband Randy of Collierville, TN; one son, Al Cash Jr. and wife Jeanne of Memphis, TN; 20 grandchildren, Kay Stavrum, James A. Cash III, Jeanne Ann Rehrig, Shane Malouf, Patrick Malouf, Natalie Carr, Gardner Malouf, Joe De Sensi, Sarah Armstrong, Susan Meador, Tracy Winn, Nathan Higdon, Nick Higdon, Chris King, Corey King, Casey King, Holly Miller, Jordan Elliott, Taylor Mathews and Thomas Mathews; 39  great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Albert Cash; four sisters and six brothers. 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Fr. Darrell Venters officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Jerome Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.
