Dwight Woodford, age 71, of Blandville, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Baptist Health Care in Paducah.
He was retired from USEC where he was an operator. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served as a radio-teletype operator for ten years, with two terms in Germany and also in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of his beloved church, Blandville Baptist Church where he served as the eldest Senior Deacon, treasurer, and auditorium Sunday school teacher for years. He was also a board member for the Blandville Fire Department, Lovelaceville Cemetery Board and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #121. Dwight loved his hometown of Blandville and worked tirelessly to help the community. He loved people and believed that there are no strangers just friends you haven’t met yet.
He is survived by his wife Jo DeJarnatt Woodford; one sister, Kathy Bachuss Myatt of Paducah; two bothers, Johnny Bachuss of Paducah, Tommy Bachuss of Paducah; several nieces, nephews and great- nieces and nephews.
Dwight Woodford is preceded in death by his parents, Hester Lee Woodford Bachuss and J. B. Bachuss and two brothers, Donnie Bachuss and Joe Bachuss .
Visitation for Dwight Woodford will be at 5:00 pm Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Larry Frazer and David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Military Honors.
