Dr. Lisa Chaney Lasher MD

Dr. Lisa Chaney Lasher M.D., 51, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Dr. Lasher was a graduate of Calloway County High School, a graduate of Murray State University, and received her M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine.  At Murray State, Dr. Lasher was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  She was employed by Lourdes Hospital Mercy Health where she served on the Lourdes Foundation Board.  She also served on staff at Baptist Health Paducah.  Dr. Lasher had delivered babies in Paducah for 22 years.  She had a passion for women’s health.  She was a physician champion for the American Cancer Society’s Tell-A-Friend program encouraging mammogram screenings.  Lisa had volunteered for many organizations whose goals were to benefit cancer patients and cancer research.

Dr. Lasher is survived by her husband of 26 years, Blaine Edward Lasher; daughter, Anne Chaney Lasher;  three sisters, Rita Chaney Cardenas and husband Dr. Jorge Cardenas M.D.,  of Paducah, Rebecca Chaney Vance of Murray and Anita Chaney Harper and husband Thomas of Murray; a brother, Dr. Glen S. Chaney  M.D., and wife, Dr. Sally H. Chaney M.D., of Paducah; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Katherine Lasher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Skinner Chaney and Dorothy Sanders Chaney; her father-in-law Edward C. Lasher; brother-in-law, Tommy E. Vance. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah.
