Donnie Ray Lovett, age 74, of Benton, passed away at 1:15 P.M. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky.
Donnie was born in Marshall County, Kentucky on June 9, 1945 to the late Welburn and Reba (Thompson) Lovett. He lived in the Olive community for most of his life where he helped his family in the logging business. Donnie worked for the Kentucky Parks Department at Kenlake State Park. He enjoyed fishing for “whatever was biting” and spent time tinkering on old cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Ann Lovett, of Olive; two sisters, Margaret Thorn and husband Bobby of Aurora and Marcella Triplett and husband Bruce of Olive; one brother, Steve Lovett and wife Sally of Olive; two grandchildren, Justin Lamb and wife Lexie of Benton and Courtney Nichols and husband Mitchell of Mayfield; and three great-grandchildren, Gentry Lamb, Halle Lamb and Christopher Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Louis Franklin Lovett and grandson, Kerry Lamb.
A funeral service for Donnie will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr with Bro. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Horn Cemetery in Olive.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. until service time on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
