David “Skit” Wilkins
David Estel “Skit” Wilkins, 71, of Paducah, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
David was born in Paducah on July 26, 1946 to John Estel and Ruth Wilkins. He graduated from Reidland High School, Murray State University and Draughan’s Business College. For several years, David worked in the banking industry and commercial sales. He entered into a partnership with his in-laws, J.B. and Frieda Moss, to own and operate General TV. After retiring from Petter Supply, David’s primary role was that of caregiver for his wife and mother-in-law. He was a member of a coffee group who met daily over many years, starting at Conway’s Barber Shop and eventually moving to MW Salon. He served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves.
Surviving is his wife, Nancy Moss Wilkins, to whom he married in 1967. They have a son, John David (Theresa) Wilkins of LaCenter; three grandchildren, Shannon Elizabeth Wilkins, Jacob Thomas Wilkins, and Sarah Kathryn Wilkins.
Preceding him in death were his sister, Linda Lippert; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 11am Saturday at the funeral home.
