Mrs. Clara Geraldine "Jean" Colson, age 90 of Paducah, KY passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 4:05 p.m. at Superior Care Home in Paducah, KY.
Born Friday, December 12, 1924 in Gilbertsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Owen and the late Dora Mae (Downs) Owen. She was the wife of the late Harry Thomas Colson.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Calvert City United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Jean McDermott, husband Tom of Sanibel, FL, Cynthia Kay Ward, husband Joe of Smithland, KY and Virginia Sue Connor, husband Leon of Highlands, TX, two sisters, Barbara Owen Fields of Hermitage, TN and Sue Owen Husher of Calvert City, KY and one brother, Paul Owen of Calvert City, KY,
Eleven grandchildren; Rhonda Pecenka of Cape Coral, FL, T.J. McDermott of Durham, NC, Kelley McDermott of Durham, NC, Monica Eppler of Cape Coral, FL, Sherry Morris of Benton, KY, Patrick Connor of Pearland, TX, Susan Walker of Paducah, KY, Jeffery McDermott of Sanibel, FL, Todd Connor of Irving, TX, Brian Connor of Lexington, KY, Mark Connor of Highlands, TX.
Fifteen great-grandchildren; Kelsey and Allie Pecenka of Cape Coral FL, Thomas and Grace McDermott of Durham, NC, Hannah and Sean Eppler of Cape Coral, FL, Kayla Boone of Marion, KY, Kevin Morris of Benton, KY, Zack Morris of Benton, KY, Cole and Aubrey Connor of Pearland, TX, Chelsea and Allie Walker of Paducah, KY, Jacob and Sophia Connor of Irving,TX, Matilda Connor of Lexington, KY. Five great great-grandchildren; Ayden, Cheynne, Sierra and Timmy Boone of Marion, KY, Kamden Morris of Benton, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by one brother, Henry Owen and one great-granddaughter, Nora Fred Connor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Rev. Jim Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Wilson Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
