Christopher Lynn Hicks, 59, of Paducah, KY died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Chris was born in Paducah, KY on February 27, 1958 to Howard Wayne Hicks, Sr. and Thelma Jean Clark Hicks. He received his education from the Lone Oak school system. When Chris was 16 years old, he sustained injuries in a car accident that left him a paraplegic. Undeterred, Chris kept an upbeat attitude and pursued his passions. A lover of the beach and sun, Chris visited Florida often with a desire to make his home there. He and his dad, Wayne, restored, bought and sold antique cars and spent many hours to make Wayne’s Body Shop a thriving business. Later in his life, he was the owner/operator of Cadillac Ranch and Hicks’ Diner. He was an entrepreneur at heart, constantly thinking of business ideas and ways to implement them. He was a member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church, now known as Twelve Oaks Baptist Church.
Surviving are his father, Wayne Hicks; siblings, Howard Hicks of Paducah, KY and Tammie (Mike) Morris of Hickory, KY; niece, Shanna Carper and her children, Nolan and Connor; and nephew, Cody Clark.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Jean Hicks.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Brandt Lyon officiating. Entombment will follow at Brooks Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
