Chester "C.T.” Minton, age 71, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Chester was a member of the Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War.  He then went on to be a photographer for the Air Force and had a lifelong love affair with all things related to the military, especially World War II.  Chester retired from USEC after 20 plus years of service as a machinist and was a member of the USW Local Union #550. His passions in life were attending auctions, ice cream and his mother’s coconut cake, fishing, and watching war movies or Fox News.  He was a member of the NRA who loved collecting guns and knives and visiting the gun range.  He will be remembered most fondly by those he loved as being a loving and caring grandfather who always took the time to play with Barbie’s or any item or game his grandchildren requested.

Chester is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Steiner of Moneta, Virginia; his son, James Minton and wife, Jessica of Paducah, KY; his mother, Rebecca Minton of Paducah, Kentucky; four sisters, Phyllis Myers and husband, David of Tennessee, Donna Hadfield and husband, Randy of Paducah, Kentucky, Vickie Keeling of Paducah, Kentucky, and Theresa Speed of Mayfield, Kentucky; one brother, Roger Speed of Calvert City; and four grandchildren, Alex Minton, Landon Steiner, Madi Minton and Avery Steiner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn Minton, and his brothers, Mark Speed, Paul Speed and his brother-in-law, Keith Keeling.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with David Myers officiating.  There will be a private burial at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
