Charles Franklin Jones, 85, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Illinois. He was a native of Marshall County, Kentucky. Charles was retired from VMV as a Boilermaker and worked as an escort at USEC. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Charles graduated from 8th grade at Jackson School House which was a 1 room school house in Marshall County and was paid 5 cents a day to get the fire started for heat, he then graduated from Brewers High School. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat Basketball Fan. Charles served in the United States Army.
He is survived by five daughters, Terri Kerr, Gina Gonzales and Lecia Tinsley all of Paducah, KY, Leah Marie Millezer of Hazel, KY and Michel Loueallen of Williford, AK; three sons, Gary Jones of Metropolis, Il, Curtis L. Vinson of Poughkeepsie, NY and Allen Tinsley of Paducah, KY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Sue Washam Jones; second wife, Martha Ann Gardner Jones; sister, Ruby Jones; three brothers, Marvin Jones, Novis Jones and Dwight Jones. His parents were Oscar T. Jones and Metta L. Free Jones.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 25, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Gary Millraney officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Marshall County, KY.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
