Charles E. Pitchford, 79, resident of Jackson House in Paducah, passed away at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Charles pastored Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO for ten years. After leaving the pastorate he began working as a Mental Health Case Worker in Kansas City and in Paducah.
He was born on July 14, 1938 to Howard and Mary Akin Pitchford in West Frankfort, IL.
He is survived by a son, Bruce (Sarah) Pitchford of Kearney, MO; daughter, Christy Pitchford of Paducah; accepted as a daughter, Lisa Mattson of Paducah; brother, Mike (Pattie) Pitchford; sister, LuAnn Bethel of Paducah; eight grandchildren, Rachelle Reynolds, Shawn Pitchford, Tabatha Pitchford, Danielle Thoman, Gabriel Pitchford, Todd Pitchford, Lexi Pitchford, Tanner Brown; nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wesley Pitchford; brother, Ron Pitchford.
