Carney E. Goodwin Jr. of Paducah, Kentucky, resting in peace with Jesus Christ at the age of 92, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Goodwin was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky to the late Carney and Linnie Davis Goodwin. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, 3rd. Class PO having served in WWII during 1945-1946. He retired as a United Auto Workers (UAW) member with 30 years of service from the Chrysler Corporation in Salvage Repair. He was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion and a VFW lifetime member, and a member of the Woodmen of the World. Carney will be remembered as a sportsman and a dear friend to many.
Mr. Goodwin is survived by a son, Ronald Wayne Goodwin of Paducah; step daughter, Sonia Frisk of Festus, Missouri; grandchildren, Ronald William Goodwin of Paducah, Pam Curry of Calvert City, Sandy Natt of Cullman, Alabama, Janice Goodwin of Wyandotte, Michigan and Sara Jones of West Paducah; great-grandchildren,Mike and Jerry Frisk; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. Pendergrass Goodwin; his parents; two sisters, Mary Patterson and Annabelle Newman; two brothers, Clint Goodwin and Kenneth Goodwin.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Brandt Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville, Kentucky with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
