Bobby Grubbs, age 83, of Paducah passed away at 11:07 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah. Bobby was a long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where served as a deacon, church treasurer, member of the cemetery committee and various other boards and committees. He was retired from McCracken County Board of Education where he worked in the Maintenance Department and formerly worked at Paducah Marine Ways. Bobby was a graduate of Lone Oak High School in the class of 1954.
He is survived by his three daughters, Phyllis (Allen) Stevenson, Debbie (Doyle) Driskill and Tressa (Tom) Freeman all of Paducah; three grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Lewis, Charlie (Audrey) Stevenson and Johathan (Anca) Freeman; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Lewis, Timothy Lewis, Skylar Stevenson, Brody Heine and Myla Stevenson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice “Tenny” Bearden Grubbs; parents, Clyde & Viva VanVanctor Grubbs; one brother, Howard Grubbs and one sister, Wanda Harding.
Services will be held. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Davidson & Dr. Wes Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday August 30, 2018 at the church.
