Billy Joe Williams, 87, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 6:25 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at his residence. He was retired from Air Products after 34 years of service as an Operator and worked for the Paducah City Fire Department as a Firefighter. Billy Joe was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Billy Joe was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan and the St. Louis Cardinals, he also enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Ramey Williams; daughter, Susan Harper and husband, Kevin of Paducah, Kentucky; sons, Gary Williams and wife, Angela of Paducah, Kentucky and Terry Williams and wife, Elizabeth of Greensboro, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Aaron Williams of Paducah, Kentucky, Shelbie Evans and husband, Landon of Benton, Kentucky, Emily Williams of Paducah, Kentucky and Jake Williams of Greensboro, North Carolina; one great grandchild, Zoey Evans and several nieces and nephews.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Lauhoff and Barbaranell Peck. His parents were Floyd “Goldie” Williams and Ina Mae Hurley Williams Dyson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
