William Orman “Bill” Brucker, 80, of Paducah, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital.

 

Bill was born in Wesleyville, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1937 to Harley and Virginia Hazelton Brucker.  He served in the United States Army.  For over thirty years, Bill worked at USEC as a machinist, painter, and retired as a supervisor.  A skilled woodworker, his family members were the recipients of his carvings, furniture and even assisted to help build their houses.  He was a Scout leader when his son was young.  After retirement, he and his wife, Mary, enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.  He was an avid tennis player, genealogist and worked Sudoku puzzles for enjoyment.

 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Mary Browning Brucker; children, Vickie (Steve) Rich of Paducah and Ron (Ann) Brucker of Knoxville, TN; was known as “Gramps” by his beloved grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Rich and Jake Brucker; brother, Richard (Joyce) Brucker of Erie, PA; and cousin, Merrill (Jane) Brucker of Mt. Gilead, OH.

 

Preceding him in death were a sister, Marjorie Plyler; and his parents.

 

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:30-12:30 at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 116 South 6th Street, Paducah, KY 42001 or McCracken County Humane Society, 4000 Coleman Road, Paducah, KY 42001.
