Betsey McDougal, age 68, of Franklin, TN, formerly of Paducah, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Belvedere Commons Memory Care in Franklin, TN.

Betsey was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on August 17, 1950, to the late James and Evelyn Gatlin.  Betsey was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and devout in her Christian faith.  This was evident in the kindness and faith that she displayed in her community.  Betsey never met a stranger, going out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable.  Family and service were at the very heart of who she was.  She had a servant’s heart, relishing the opportunity to volunteer in numerous ways, including at the Community Kitchen.  She was a member of Paducah’s Charity League, and El Arbol Garden Club.  Betsey was funny, selfless, humble, and lived with a youthful enthusiasm.  She loved to laugh, socialize, read, and travel with her family and friends.

Betsey is survived by her daughter, Holly Bichon Winn and husband, Jason, of Franklin, TN; her three sons, Teddy Bichon and wife, Tera, of Franklin, TN, Bo McDougal of Jeffersonville, IN, and Jay McDougal of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Bonnie Hollingsworth (Bob) of Chesapeake, VA and Brenda Gatlin of Paducah; one brother, Jim Gatlin, Jr. of Paducah; five grandchildren, Carson Winn, Hadley Winn, Kenan McDougal, Brooks Bichon, and CoCo Bichon; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Eddy McDougal; her parents, James and Evelyn Gatlin; and her sister, Bobbie Gatlin Cruz.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home, 120 Memorial Drive, Paducah, KY, with Rev. Jamey Broome of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow at Brook Hill Memorial Park and Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm service time on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.  Friends are encouraged to join the family during the 12:00 pm memorial service and celebration of life.
