Anthony “Tony” Lauren Ballard, age 67, of Paducah, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, 10:10 p.m., at his residence.
He was a member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the Usher Ministry, Men’s Ministry and Marriage Ministries. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired as a communication specialist with the Federal Reserve Bank. He was also co-owner of Adelle’s Canning & Catering Made Perfect and Reliable Tire and Auto.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Ballard, Sr. and step-father, Eli McKnight.
He is survived by his wife, Adelle Powell Ballard of Paducah, two daughters, Lisa Fluker of Hammond, IN and Antonique Ballard of Chicago, IL; three sons, Anthony Cherry of Aurora, IL, Randy Ballard of Chicago, IL, and Dwight Ragland of Louisville, KY; Eight Grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his Mother, Berneice Cowan McKnight, Topeka, KS; three brothers, Lorenzo Ballard of Chicago, IL, Raymond Chatman of Topeka, KS and Levanda Williams of Pine Bluff, AR; three sisters, Debra Lee of Kansas City, MO, Charline Cushinberry and Sandra Perry, both of Topeka, KS; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2017, 12:00 Noon, at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend James L. Hudson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
