Katharine Annabel Reese, 84, of Paducah, KY died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Barkley Center with her children at her side.

Ann was born in Fredericktown, Missouri on March 24, 1933 to Raleigh Dolphus Pinegar and Maude Mae Pruett Pinegar.  She was a 1952 graduate of Fredericktown High School.  On February 21, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, William Harold Reese, and together they followed his career to Festus, Missouri; West Helena, Arkansas; and finally to Paducah in 1970.

An active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Paducah, Ann tended the nursery for over thirty years and was instrumental in encouraging and supporting young families in the faith community. Her Sunday school class was active in outreach and homebound visitation offering support, hospitality and a connection to the congregation.

Caring for her family was Ann’s first love and singular priority. In her free time, she pursued several hobbies over the years including ceramics, bird watching, gardening, and tending her flowers. Generous and welcoming in spirit, Ann left her mark on her family, her friends and on the many people providing care for her in her later years.

Surviving are her children, Mike Reese of Paducah and Carol Reese and partner Jeanne Wirpsa of Chicago; two grandchildren, Sophie Reese-Wirpsa and Eli Reese-Wirpsa; two sisters-in-law and loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, William Harold Reese; siblings, Opal Bernice Wecker Rees, nee Pinegar; Raleigh Jr. Pinegar; Norma Imogene Mihlfeld Goebel, nee Pinegar; half-siblings, Gladys Irene Brasfield, nee Pinegar; Clarence Pinegar; and her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Paducah with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating.  Urn burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.  Memorial visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers her children request contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, since both Ann and her husband struggled with dementia.
