Robert Alan Walls, 71, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Lake Worth, Florida, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Alan was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on September 17, 1946 to Ernie and Virginia Walls. He earned the rank of Sargeant in the United States Army and supported the troops by installing temporary bridges. After being honorably discharged, Alan logged many miles as a truck driver and then became a commercial mechanic for rental car fleet companies. He was devoted to his family and doted on his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his free time.
Surviving are his mother, Virginia Cupps Walls of Vero Beach, Florida; two sons, Alan Robert “Lil Al” Walls and wife Angela of Paducah and Thomas Joseph Walls and wife Krystle of Ellijay, Georgia; grandchildren, Nicholus Walls, Justin Walls and Toby Walls, Courtney Lee, Sydney DeVries, Marley Walls and Jackson Walls; great-grandson, Madix DeVries; and siblings, Roxanne Walls Peterson, Tonya Walls, Lisa Bailey, Elaine Carter, Ronald Walls, Donald Walls, Tommy Walls, Todd Walls and Larry Walls.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernie Walls; sister, Linda Fryer; and brother, Denny Walls.
Local memorial services will be privately over Thanksgiving weekend. Military rites will be held at a later date at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
