Virginia Maxine Wilkins Bohannon age 98 of Brewers, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at 8:05am with family at her side. Born on October 28, 1918 in Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Amy Creola (Phillips) Wilkins. She was married to her late husband, Ernest Alvin Bohannon, for 63 years. Maxine and Ernest owned and operated Bohannon’s Grocery Store in Brewers for over 20 years. She was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her siblings, Hall Wilkins, Howard Wilkins, Roe Wilkins, Geneva Wilkins Clark, and Pat Wilkins.
Maxine is survived by her children, Johnny Bohannon and wife, Toni, of Murray; Mary Beth Pilgrim and husband, Robert, of Benton; Terry Bohannon and wife, Teresa, of Benton; six grandchildren, Dr. Todd Bohannon and wife, Stephanie; Tyler Bohannon and wife, Alisha; Virginia “Ginny” (Pilgrim) Kelley and husband, Ross; Andrew Pilgrim and wife, Leanne; Mitchel Bohannon; and Lena Bohannon; six great-grandchildren, Abigail Kelley, Jonah Bohannon, Sarah Bohannon, Noah Bohannon, Hillary Bohannon, and Sam Bohannon.
Visitation is Saturday, May 27th, 2017 from 5-8pm at Collier Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 2:00pm, at Collier Funeral Home, followed by burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Marshall County.
