Virginia Becker Heise, 97, of Gilbertsville, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at her home in Sledd Creek where she had resided since November 1948.
Virginia was a member of Briensburg United Methodist Church. A graduate of Cape Girardeau Business College and worked throughout her life as a secretary and bookkeeper for various companies. She was an avid softball player on several Cape Girardeau teams in the late 30s and early 40s. Also an avid tennis player and fan. She and Rudy had spent their years boating, water skiing, and fishing on KY Lake.
Born April 19, 1917 in Cape Girardeau, MO, she was the daughter of Charles Alois Becker and Minnie Alvessa Yaggi and was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Henry Heise, sister, Clodene Lucille Becker Dawson and brother, Charles Edward Becker.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen Kay Heise and husband Steve Walker, also of Gilbertsville, Diane Charlene Heise and husband Casey Cartwright of Sultan, WA, and Janet Heise Sommers of Sedro Woolley, WA, as well grandchildren, Michelle Orr O'Brion, Sean Orr, Erica Terek, Greg Jacobs, great-grandchildren, Nicole and Adam Jacobs, Ted and Nadia Terek, Mikalah and Patrick O'Brion and three great-great grandchildren.
A small memorial service will be held at a later date for immediate family members.
