Vernon O. Edwards, 70, of Ledbetter passed away at 4:16 PM Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Baptist Health of Paducah.
Mr. Edwards was a School Administrator, a Veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War, a member of The Potter’s House, Baptist Worship Center of Smithland, KY, Masonic Lodge 138 of Smithland, American Legion Post 217 of Burna, Honorary Retiree of F.O.P. of Paducah, Kentucky Colonel, Duke of Paducah.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Martha (Snow) Edwards of Ledbetter, son, Zane Owen Edwards and wife Emily of Ledbetter; daughter, Jillian Mae Nelson and husband Trey of Gilbertsville; four brothers, Ruble Ray Edwards of Las Vegas, NV, Randall Edwards of Ledbetter, Larry Edwards of Symsonia, Tommy Edwards of Ledbetter; two sisters, Wanda Lane of Brookport, Betty Jean Inglish of Possum Trot; two grandsons, Liam Gammon Nelson, Carter Owen Edwards; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Betty B. (Clapp) Edwards; five brothers; two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Fred Lowrance and Dr. Brad Henson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Cothran Cemetery of Smithland.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the funeral home.
