Mrs. Vera L. "Polly" Henson, age, 91 of Benton, KY passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. She was a seamstress for a garment factory in St. Louis, MO. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Born Tuesday, February 1, 1927 in Paris, TN, she was the daughter of the late Luther Anderson Fitch and the late Mary Magdalene (Ellis) "Maggie" Fitch. She was the wife of the late Orion Henson.
Surviving are her sister, Joyce Palazzolo of Columbia, MO, nieces; Barbara Bailey, Benton, KY, Tammie York of Benton, KY and Charlotte Allen of Aurora, KY, Liz Palazzolo of Columbia, MO. Several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by her daughter, Wanetta Kay Fitch, brothers, Charlie A. Fitch and George D. Fitch, sisters, Mary Judith Allen, Florence M. Bradshaw, Violet Sanders, Annabelle Whitthorne, Nellie McCord, Thelma G. Anderson, Ruth F. Price, Lorene Hicks and Flora Belle Burk, nieces; Sandra Kay Allen, Judy Carol Mullen, nephew, Charles Wayne Allen.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY.
Interment will be in Bevil Cemetery, Paris, TN.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
