Terry Lee Cope

Mr. Terry Lee Cope, age 44 of Benton, Kentucky died on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his home.  He was born in Murray Calloway County Hospital on July 8, 1975.  He lived in Marshall County and graduated with honors from Marshall County High School, Murray State University, and the University of Akron in Ohio with a BA in Political Science and Master's Degrees in Political Science and English.

He was creative and loved to read and write.  He was the author of Kid Bean, an Amazon digital series of 31 children's books, and 3 other books.

Terry is survived by his father and step-mother, Wayne and Judy Cope, his mother, Kathy Hancock, grandmother, Fay Schuster, uncle, Bobby Schuster, great-uncle, Bill Luebker, brothers, Timmy Cope with Angie (Marcus and very special niece, Kirsten), Todd Cope with Candace (Michael and Mason), Travis Cope, half-brother, Alex Cope, step-brother, Jeff Jackson with Gloria (Dylan and Maddox), step-sister, Jill Guill, Terry (Ryan, Ashley, Sam, Reese, and Daisy).

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dave Hancock, grandfather, Ronald Schuster, great aunt, Christine Luebker, grandparents, Willard and Lugene Cope, great-grandparents, Willard and Vera Luebker, and Guy and Trentie McCain.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with his step-brother, Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cole Cemetery, Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
