Mrs. Rivers Capps, age 95 of Calvert City, KY passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.
Born Monday, June 18, 1923 in Gilbertsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Donohoo and the late Kate (Owen) Donohoo. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Hale Capps.
She was a retired seamstress, a member of Calvert City First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and was involved in the choral ministry. She was a graduate of the Calvert City High School.
Surviving are her son, Ben Capps, wife Carol of Calvert City, KY, daughter, Martha Puckett, husband David of Benton, KY, daughter-in-law, Marsha Capps of Calvert City, KY, and sister, Mrs. Amelia McCormick of Lakeland, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren; Vanessa Futrell, Amanda Fennel, Nick Puckett and Buffy Gourley, great-grandchildren; Colin Gourley, Delaney Gourley, Preston Futrell, Owen Futrell, Jake Fennel and Jude Fennel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by a son, John David Capps and grandson, Daren O. Puckett.
A Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church of Calvert City, Calvert City, KY., with the Rev. Dr. Jim Ewing officiating. Interment will follow the service in Provine Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Calvert City, Ash St., Calvert City, KY.
