Mrs. Peggy Jane Carter, age 69 of Hardin, KY passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Marshall Co. Hospital E. R. in Benton, KY.
Born Sunday, January 26, 1947 in Danville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Johnson and the late Regina (Landers) Johnson. She was the wife of the late Jay Lloyd Carter, Sr.
Surviving three daughters, Lois O'Brian of Hardin, KY, Diana Nesbitt of Hardin, KY and Bonnie Thompson of Burney, CA, one brother, William Johnson of Danville, IL, two sisters, Dee Styer of Danville, IL and Juanita Johnson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jay Lloyd Carter, Jr., grandchild, Savanah Nicole Bolton Carter. Also preceding in death were 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Wade Gillespie will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
