Mrs. Pauline VanVactor Norwine, age 91 of Calvert City, KY passed away, Monday, June 25, 2018, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY.
Born Friday, September 10, 1926 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late George W. Stevens and the late Ethel Ruby (Branham) Stevens. She was one of three women in the 1960's to operate an airport, she was the first person to operate the Gilbertsville Airport. She was the owner and operator of the Browse A-bout Gift Shop in Lake City, KY. She was a member of the Estill Chapter 73, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a past Worthy Matron and was member of the Daughters of the Nile.
She was a member of Calvert City First Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara Carroll, husband Harvey of Calvert City, KY and Charlotte Mathis, husband Ron of Hendersonville, TN, sister, Ellen Wilson, husband Harold of Calvert City, KY 5 Norwine step-children and their families, 4 grandchildren, Vickey Neal, Rickey McLeod, Sabrina Overby and Toni West, 9 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of 49 years, Thomas Ervin VanVactor and husband of 21 years, Jack Norwine.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Rev. Ron Mathis will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY. An Eastern Star service will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Collier Funeral Chapel, the public is invited to attend.
