Norma Wyatt, 88 of Benton, KY died on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Calvert City Convalescent Center surrounded by her family. She was bobrn on Ocober 10, 1930 tothe late Curlin and Annie (Hamlet) Thompson. She was married for 62 years to Gus M. Wyatt until his death.

Mrs. Wyatt is survived by her three children, Valera (Gene) Brooks, Philip (Kay) Wyatt, and Stuart (Laurie) Wyatt. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Scott Wyatt, Amy Wyatt Nelson, Todd Wyatt, Adam Brooks, Ashley Brooks Loftus, Cole Wyatt, and Brooke Wyatt. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Tyler Nelson, Seth Nelson, Lainey Wyatt, Landon Wyatt, Ethan Wyatt, Collin Wyatt, Anna Marie Wyatt, Bryson Wyatt, Dylan Wyatt, Keagin Brooks, Madison Brooks, Laken Brooks, Kayla Loftus, Kelsey Loftus, Payton Tapscott, and Preston Frommeyer. One brother, Bob Thompson (Betty) surrvives Mrs. Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and four sisters.

Being born during the Depression, Mrs, Wyatt recieved very little formal education and it was one of her greatest prides when she earned her GED. She was an advocate of education and insisted that her children would have a college education. She was successful in that goal in that all of her adult children and grandchildren have earned a college degree.

She worked at Ashby Chair Factory and Conalco Alcubond until she retired.

She was very active in the Benton First United Methodist Church. SHe was part of the United Methodist Women, The Quilters, and a volunteer for the Helping Hands Food Pantry until her health prevented her from doing these things. She was greatly loved by her family, friends, the staff at the Stilley House in Benton and the residents and staff at the Calvert City Convalescent Center.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. David Russell officiating.

Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service time of 1:00 PM on Wednesday, at Collier Funeral Home.
