Mr. Michael Channell, 70, of Puryear, TN passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at is home.
Mr. Channell was born on July 22, 1946 in Concord, Michigan to the late Adrian and Hazel Dennis Channell. In 1963, Michael joined the United States Air Force where he was a crew chief on B52 bombers. He was a retired Baptist minister having surrendered to preach in 1973. He pastored in Frankfort and Jackson, MI, Willow Hill, IL, Paris, TN, Wayne, WV and Plant City, FL. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Murray.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Channell.
Those he lovingly left behind include his wife of 48 years, Janet E. Lowe Channell; two sons, Chris Channell (Wendy) of Concord, Michigan, Tim Channell (Sherry) of Chester, Virginia; a daughter, Aimee Hanusosky (Mark) of Muskegon, Michigan; a sister, Donna Channell of Jackson, Michigan; four grandchildren, Ashley, Brandi, MyKayla and Dereck and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 1:00 PM, Monday, July 3, 2017 at Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, downtown Murray. Mark Clark will officiate. Matt Oliver, Matthew Hicks, Nathan Ryles, Tyler Riles, Tyler Clark and Brady Clark will serve has pallbearers. Shane Dejamett and Derik Hall will serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow at 4:00 PM at the Puryear Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at the Imes Funeral Home and Crematory, downtown Murray.
