Mary Kay Downing, 93, entered Eternal Life at 12:44AM Monday, May 8, 2017, at her home in Euless, TX where she resided with two of her daughters.

Mary Kay was born Mary Katherine Clark in Akron, Ohio to her parents Boone and Ethel Mae (Solomon) Clark.  The Clark family moved back to their home in Marshall County when Mary Kay was 3-years old.

She was a resident of Benton, KY and a member at First Missionary Baptist Church for 52 years.  She served our Lord and First Missionary by teaching Bible studies and classes to members from children through older adults.  Mary Kay and her husband, Thomas Downing, who preceded her in death by nearly 19 years were dearly loved and respected as they served their church in many different capacities.

Mary Kay was a stay-at-home mom and bookkeeper for their Texaco Service Station business during their daughters’ young years.  She worked in retail sales in Detroit, Michigan during her young adult years and later in Benton for many years.

Over the past 13 ½ years she has lived in Euless, Texas with two of her daughters.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Euless and served the church as a mentor and Bible study leader for the Women of Purpose Connection Class.

Her favorite pass-times were reading God’s Word, journaling, and spending time with her family, especially her grands and greats.

She left a remarkable legacy and is survived by her three daughters, Sheila Crouch of Alpharetta, GA; Pamela Robbins of Euless, TX; and Christa Santos of Euless, TX; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren plus one on-the-way; four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous beloved family members and friends.

The second of four children, a generation passes with Mary Kay; she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Downing; parents Boone and Ethel Mae (Solomon) Clark; her sisters, Georgia Clark English and Mae Clark Colberg; her brother, Harold H. Clark; and her son-in-love, Lynn Crouch.

Flowers are accepted.  It was Mary Kay’s wishes for donations to be made to First Missionary Baptist Church of Benton.
