Mrs. Mary Kathryn (Sargent) Beard, age 91, of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY. Born Sunday, November 22, 1925 in Little Cypress, KY, she was a retired Beautician and homemaker. She was also a 50+ year member of Briensburg Church of Christ.
Mrs. Beard is survived by her son, Dennis Beard wife Rhonda of Benton, KY, daughters, Marilyn Templeton husband Royce of Gilbertsville, KY and Malinda Colburn husband Richard of Calvert City, KY, seven grandchildren, Chad Colburn, Malissa Pruitt, Chrissy Colburn Perez, Laura Higgins, Andrea Beard Hays, Cami Colburn Warning, and Clint Colburn, seventeen great-grandchildren, Trevor Pruitt, Claire Colburn, Cate Colburn, Annie Beard, Macee Pruitt, Lily Hays, Levi Hays, Owen Warning, Nate Perez, Lincoln Colburn, Emily Perez, Elliott Warning, Avery Warning, Alex Perez, Blake Beard, Ty Cooper Higgins and Mya Higgins, sisters, Faye Inglish of Benton, KY and Carolyn Castleberry of Calvert City, KY.
Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Robert William Beard and her grandson Andy Beard. Her parents were the late Hugh DeMoss Sargent and Ruby Lee (Jessup) Pettit.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Wilson Cemetery with Gary Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow the service.
There will be no public visitation.
