Mr. Jimmie E. "Jim" Burdett, age 77 of Symsonia, KY died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at his residence. Born Wednesday, September 20, 1939 in West Point, AL, he was a truck driver for Davis Transport and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He also served honorably in the United States Army during Korea.
Mr. Burdett is survived by his wife of 51 years Carron Louise (Thomason) Burdett of Symsonia, KY; son Jimmie Burdett and his wife Paula of Benton, KY and five grandchildren, Ryan, Kody, Sami, Grace and Trace.
Mr. Burdett was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Burdett and Toby Burdett and sisters, Maxine Phillips, Abby Cole and Melba Jean Hollums. His parents were the late Albon and Eunice (Buckelew) Burdett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday January 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Kee officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Clarks River Cemetery.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday January 28, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St, Benton, KY 42025.
