James Fields (Jim) Carter, 57, of Murray, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  

James Fields (Jim) Carter, 57, of Murray, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. 

Jim was born March 16, 1957 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late James L. and Anna Taylor Carter. He was a member of the Journey Church in Murray. Jim was the MSU Bass Anglers' Adviser and a member of K.E.T. Friends Board, Board of International Entertainment Buyers' Association, Board Member for Independence Bank in Murray, Country Music Association, Murray Calloway County Economic Development Corporation, iModules Strategic Advisory Board, Board of CASE-KY, the Board Chair of the Murray Convention & Business Bureau and he was Pi Kappa Alpha Advisor. 

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Emerson Carter of Murray; two children, Austin Emerson Carter of Murray and Amanda Story, husband D.J. of Evansville, Indiana and a grandson, Carter Kent Story.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Lovett Auditorium on the campus of Murray State University. Robert Johnson and Matt Johnson will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Murray Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tab Brockman, Bob Jackson, Sam Smith, Lynn Richard, Joe D. Ward and Jim Foster.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, St.Rt. 121 North in Murray.
