Mr. Henry "Kenneth" Smith, age 74 of Symsonia, KY passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his home.
Born Sunday, February 7, 1943 in Symsonia, KY, he was the son of the late Buran L. Smith and the late Lalah (Phelps) Smith. He was a life time member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 in Paducah, KY. He retired from Gerald Chambers and Sons, Benton, KY. He was a member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Aquilla Fay (Barnes) Smith of Benton, KY, two daughters, Renee (John) Maness of Symsonia, KY and Kendra (Stacy) Clere of Symsonia, KY, one sister, Jan Winstead-Odom of Symsonia, KY, grandchildren; Blake Maness of Murray, KY and Darien Maness of Symsonia, KY, step-grandchildren; Tylena Estes of Benton, KY, Christian Clere of Symsonia, KY, and Canon Clere of Murray, KY. Two step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Eldridge Smith and Byron H. "Bumsey" Smith.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Wallace Cemetery in Symsonia, KY. Rev. Van Russell will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Wallace Cemetery, Symsonia, KY.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017, and on Friday, September 29, 2017 until 12:30 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
