Hazel M. Lambert Payne, 92, of Calvert City, Kentucky, formerly of Owensboro, passed away at 10:27 P.M. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Hazel was born in Paducah on October 23, 1926 to the late William Henry Lambert and Radie Dick Lambert. She was a long time member of the Owensboro Church of Christ and a “tremendous cook”. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and going out to eat with them. She will be remembered for her great love for all her grandchildren.
Mrs. Payne is survived by her daughter, Teresa Freeman (H. Steve), of Calvert City; her grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Allyn Johnson, Jared Rosa, Lauren Bazzell; numerous beloved great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her son, Gary Johnson; her parents; one sister; four brothers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. James Keeling officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the funeral home.
