Delbert (Del) Ray Aden, age 79, of Benton, KY formerly of Davenport, IA passed away on February 22, 2017 in Paducah, KY. Del was born in Akron, OH to Leo and Verla Aden on August 13, 1937. He went to school at Rowva High School in Oneida IL. He married Janet Stout Aden on August 6, 1960 and was happily married for 24 years until her passing in 1985. He found love a second time and married Janice Kay Hamlet on August 8, 2002 and they were devoted to each other until his passing. He attended the University of Illinois. He worked as a Grain Broker for Pillsbury Corporation in Davenport for 20 years until he retired at the age of 50 and purchased his lifelong dream of a Resort on the Kentucky Lakes. He owned the resort until his passing. He was involved in the Masonic Lodge in Galesburg, IL and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran church where he was an elder. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals. He coached youth sports and was a Booster for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Del was an avid lover of the Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky and the Kentucky Lake. He could be found walking around his resort or working on his pool to keep it in pristine condition. He was an antique collector and his favorite items to collect were Oil lamps and depression era glass. Del battled with Parkinson Disease for the last ten years of his life and even though the disease took his mobility, it could never conquer his spirit. He would not let the disease define him; he continued to fight the disease until his passing.

Del is survived by Janice Kay Aden Benton, Kentucky; Sons Dean Ray Aden of Lexington Kentucky, Douglas Edward (Carol) Aden of Davenport, Iowa and Mitch(Jody) Hamlet of Benton, Kentucky; His Brother Donald Earl Aden, of Alexis, Illinois; sisters, Joyce Maurine (Larry) Nichols, of Galva, Illinois, and Janice Elaine (Larry) Luttrell, of Lonetree, Colorado; His Grandchildren Nick, Audrie, Colleen, Connor, Kayla, Kelcee,

Riley, and numerous nieces and nephews and 3 great grandchildren.

Del is preceded in death by both parents Leo and Verla Aden, first Wife Janet (Stout) Aden and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday February 26, 2017 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home, Bro. Frank Queen officiating.

Interment will follow in the Union Ridge Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday February 25, 2017 with a Masonic service at 7:00 pm at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th Street, Benton, KY 42025.
