Clifford Earl Schuett, age 82, of Gilbertsville, KY, formerly of Spring Lake, MI and Plantation, FL, died Saturday, October 18, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Schuett was a retired speech therapist for the Grand Rapids Michigan Public Schools and Broward County Florida Public Schools. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. Schuett had many interests including; fishing, boating, RV camping, traveling, woodworking and photography.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marty Dees Schuett of Gilbertsville, KY; his former wife of 23 years, Marion Pavilon Schuett of Laughlin, NV; three sons: Clifford Schuett, Jr. of California; Kevin Schuett and wife Lorraine of Margate, FL, Kelly Schuett and partner JoAnn of Gilbertsville, KY; one daughter: Kristina Schuett Veneklase and husband Tim of Grand Rapids, MI; one sister Patricia Schuett Otley Neuhaus and husband John of Grand Haven, MI; two step bothers: Stephen Plumb and wife Susan of Okemos, MI and Brock Plumb and wife Katie of Milford, MI; three grandchildren: Dan DeFrank of Grand Rapids, MI, Erika Schuett McNaughton of Comstock Park, MI and Tiffany Smith of Otsego, MI; three great grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
Mr. Schuett was preceded in death by his parents; Earl Patrick Schuett and Etna Bonome Schuett Plumb and a sister: Kathleen Schuett Brady Drennan.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted at 4:30 pm at Collier Funeral Home.
