Mr. Charles Robert "Bob" Williams, age 82 of Gilbertsville, KY passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at his home.
Born Monday, July 20, 1936 in Caneyville, KY, he was the son of the late James H. Williams and the late Flora (Simpson) Williams. He retired after 40 years of service from General Electric in Bloomington, IL. He was an avid golf player and was a self-taught guitarists. He was a member of the Bloomington Masonic Lodge #43 A.F. and A.M. and was a member of the East Marshall Baptist Church, Gilbertsville, KY.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Rachel D. (Holland) Williams of Gilbertsville, KY, daughter, Jeannie L. (Dan) Schneider of Bradley, IL, 3 step-sons; Darryl (Whendy) Henderson of Batesville, AR, Jerry (Mary) Henderson of Newark, AR, and Dale (Jeannie) Henderson of Batesville, AR. 3 brothers, Jim Williams of Bloomington, IL, Ron Williams of Bloomington, IL and Michael Williams of Bloomington, IL, 6 sisters, Wilma Roberts of Atlanta, IL, Fran Mattson of Nashville, TN, Bonnie Givens of Bloomington, IL, Connie Staley of Heyworth, IL and Betty Saxton of Bloomington, IL. 12 grandchildren; Destiny Williams, Kindra (Justin) Morrison, Kasey (David) Six, Brandon Cotter, Jalesa (Brandon) Reed, Matthew (Shauna) Henderson, Lucas (Maggie) Henderson, Levi (Amy) Henderson, Jacob (Hallee) Henderson, Elizabeth Henderson, Jhonny Henderson, Jason Henderson and Brittnie Henderson. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Michael, Olivia, Hagen, Clark, Rychlan, Juliet, Michael R., Sloan, Rossann, Jordy and Maddie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes "Midge" Williams, his son, Robert E. Williams, and sister, Debbie Miller.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the East Marshall Baptist Church, 6324 Moors Camp Hwy., Gilbertsville, KY. Rev. James Keeling will officiate.
Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY have been entrusted with the arrangements.
