Charleen M. Johnson, age 93, of Benton, KY, died Saturday, January 24, 2015, at her residence in Benton, KY. Mrs. Johnson was part owner of Pip Johnson Construction and Johnson Plumbing Shop with her husband Pip Johnson. She was a member of Symsonia United Methodist Church but has attended Benton Cumberland Presbyterian Church for the past few years. She was also a member of Symsonia Eastern Star.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie M. Miller and the late Ocie (Downing) Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clifton "Pip" Johnson, one grandson: Gary Johnson; three brothers: Crosslon Miller, Claude Miller, and Coy Miller; two sisters: Helen Miller and Kathleen Miller Ford; one nephew and one niece.
She is survived by one daughter Jan Boyd and husband Jerry of Benton, KY; one son: Charles "Bub" Johnson and wife Suzanne of Calvert City, KY; three grandchildren: Mike Treas, Ginger Johnson, and Jodi Holsapple and husband Kevin; three step grandchildren: Nicole Edwards, Lori Bunch and husband Steven, and Lisa Wilson and husband Mark; four great grandchildren: Tyler Johnson, Skyler Holsapple, Lyndsi Treas Hughes and husband Tim, and Hanna Holsapple; six step great grandchildren: Weston Edwards, Hudson Edwards, Jacob Wilson, Joe Bunch, Jade Miller and husband Jonathan, and Evan Clark and wife Marty; four step great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws, and one brother-in-law.
A very special thanks to our precious caregivers: Samantha Mosley, Danielle Higgins, Melissa Morris, Tony Wells and thanks to "Carolyn" our home health nurse, hospice workers, and Marshall County Hospital.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 26, 2015. Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 27, 2015, with Frankie Johnson and Donna Davenport officiating. Interment will be at Symsonia Cemetery, Symsonia, KY.
