Mr. Bobbie V. Elkins, age 85, of Murray, passed away at 12:58 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was of the Methodist faith, served in the United States Marine Corp., and retired after 41 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Freda Elkins, two sons; Mark Elkins, wife Pam, Terry Elkins, and two daughters, Rene Marchbanks, husband Rex, Pam Cotham, husband Danny; three grandsons, Jason Stafford, wife Rexanna, Grant Cherry, Thomas Elkins; two granddaughters, Samantha Elkins and Chelsea Riley; and two great grandsons, Jackson Stafford and Beau Elkins. Bobbie is also survived by one brother, James Elkins and two sisters; Eural Moore and Dot Mathis.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lou Elkins, his parents, David and Hattie Elkins, two brothers, Deas and Lamon Elkins, and two sisters, Griselda Morgan and Bernice McCoy.
Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY, with funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, Rev. Chris Young officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
