Mr. Billie D. Portis, age 86 of Symsonia, KY died on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his residence. Born Wednesday, May 28, 1930, in Graves County, KY, he was a retired Chemical Operator. He was a veteran of the United States Army during Korea. He was a member of Clarks River Baptist Church.
Mr. Portis is survived by his sons, Dwayne Portis of Symsonia, KY and Darrell Portis of Symsonia, KY, sister, Gertrude Freeman of Owensboro, KY, and three grandchildren, longtime companion of 33 years, Norma McDougal and his caregiver Regina.
Mr. Portis was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary "Rosie" Holland Portis. He was the son of the late Luther and Irene Crowell Portis
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Clarks River Cemetery with Rev. Mike Farmer officiating.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St, Benton, KY 42025.
