Mrs. Mary Ruth Kennedy Housman, age 92, of Benton, KY passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Born Friday, May 4, 1923 in Lyon County, KY., she was the daughter of the late Silas and Mary Gray Kennedy. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and also a member of Sharpe Homemakers.
Mrs. Housman is survived by two daughters, Linda Glisson and her husband Jesse of Kevil, KY and Carolyn Donohoo and her husband Mike of Benton, KY, brother, Kenneth Kennedy of Kuttawa, KY; sister Kathryn Fuqua of Oviedo, Fl.: and 4 grandchildren, Angie Nelson, Matt Glisson, Stacy Moore and Andrew Donohoo.
Mrs. Housman was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Tommy Housman, brother Lawrence Kennedy, and two sisters Marguerite Wells and Shirley Gauner.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at Collier Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rodney Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 24, 2015 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th Street, Benton, KY.
