Mrs. Frances Clara Harp, age 91 of Gilbertsville, KY, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Rivers Bend Retirement Communtiy in Kuttawa, KY.
Born Tuesday, September 2, 1924 in Hancock, Missouri, she was a retired seamstress with Jean's Clothing Store in Paducah, KY. She was a member of the Calvert Baptist Church in Gilbertsville, KY.
Surviving are sons, Leonard Harp Sr. of Gilbertsville, KY and Garland Byrd of Osage, MO, daughter, Donna Lowey of Terre Haute, IN, 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Michael McLean and the late Annie (Rohlman) McLean. She was the wife of the late Arthur Ivan Harp. Also preceding are her son, Billy Joe Harp, 3 brothers, James McLean, John McLean and Bryan McLean, 3 sisters, Sister Elizabeth Ann, Margaret and Rebecca.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Rev. Dale Greenwell will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Jackson Starks Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the William A. Doyle American Legion Post 236, 25 Little John Lane, Calvert City, KY 42029.
