Mr. William L. Jones, Sr.

Mr. William L. Jones, Sr., age 80, of Benton, KY, died Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Marshall Co. Hospital  E. R. in Benton, KY. Mr. Jones was a retired sheetmetal worker out of the Sheet Metal Workers FCU Local 20 and was a member of Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he served as song leader among many other roles in the church. He was a Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic Petty Officer 2nd Class, and a member of the Alford Hardin Masonic Lodge 925  in Aurora. 

Surviving are his wife: Joan (Powell) Jones of Benton, KY and their three children Marcia Clark and husband Doug of Benton, KY, Donna Wyatt of Benton, KY, Bill Jones Jr. and wife Kathy of Benton, KY. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Robyn (Wyatt) Shelbourne and husband Jeremy of Paducah, KY; Blake Jones of Benton, KY; Courtney Wyatt of Benton, KY; and Brice Jones of Benton, KY; and three great grandchildren: Phoenix Bowlin and Griffin and Silas Shelbourne.  

He was the son of the late Lester Gaston Jones and the late Bertie Lee (Fike) Jones. He is also preceded in death by one sister: Elizabeth Jones; one brother: Joseph Jones; and his son-in-law Tim Wyatt.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2020. Masonic service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, the public is invited to attend. 

Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2020, with Rev. Ray Lewis and Rev. John Bedwell officiating. 
Interment with full military honors will follow the service at Fairdealing Cemetery, Benton, KY.
