Maude Proffitt, 95, of Paducah, passed away at 2:10am Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah. Maude was born in Joy, Kentucky on April 20, 1919 to the late Wade H. Skelton and Emily Belle Vick Skelton. Maude worked for the US Postal Service many years ago and was a retired Educator, a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church, but had been attending the Lone Oak Church of Christ.
Survivors include her special nephew, Roger Don McGrew of Midland, Michigan.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Proffitt; three sisters, Ruth Skelton, Laverne McGrew, and Nannie Skelton; and one brother, Taylor Skelton.
A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Livingston County with Mr. Jamey Boone officiating. Visitation will be held at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home from 11:00am to 1:00pm Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
