Lavada Bean, 80, of Bardwell, KY died on June 30, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. She was born July 27, 1936 in Cunningham, KY to Everett DeJarnatt and Ovelia Moyers Blackwell.
Lavada attended and graduated from Draughon’s Business College. She was a secretary at Modine Inc. and a legal secretary for four former Carlisle County attorneys. Lavada was also the Carlisle County Treasurer along with the Bardwell City Treasurer. She was a member of Mississippi Baptist Church. Lavada enjoyed tending her flowers and gardening.
Lavada is survived by daughters Lisa Bean of O’Fallon, MO; Betty Headrick and husband Kevin of Paducah, KY; son Phillip Bean of Bardwell, KY; sisters Zanada Rials of Burkley, KY; Frada Anderson of Clinton, KY; Gail Yates of Paducah, KY; one brother, Tilford DeJarnatt of Arlington, KY; grandchildren Russell Bean, Chelsea Hartmann, Jackie Headrick, and 2 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Talmadge DeJarnatt.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Bardwell with Rev. Mark Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cunningham, KY. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Bardwell.
