Joyce Grove, 80, of Benton, KY passed away at 5:18 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019 at her residence.
Joyce was born on April 14, 1939 in Mayfield, KY to the late Ray Roach and Pauline Feezor Roach. She was a graduate of Murray State University and she later went on to get her Master’s Degree from Peabody College of Education and Human Development. During her career she worked as a Children’s Librarian in multiple different school districts including St. Mary’s School and Heath Elementary School in Paducah, KY. She was a member of the Symsonia United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, David Grove of Benton, KY; one daughter, Lia Thomas and husband George of Columbia, TN; one brother, Malcolm Roach of Gilberstville, KY; and one grandson, Ryan Thomas of Columbia, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Robert Grove.
The family will be holding a Graveside Service for Joyce at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Symsonia Cemetery. Pastor Mike Donald will officiate and burial will follow.
