Mr. Johnie Champion, age 52 of Benton, KY., died on Friday, September 26, 2014, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
Born Tuesday, November 14, 1961 in Paducah, KY., he was the son of the late Charles Champion and the late Christine (Swinford) Champion. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 727 in Calvert City where he was a Chemical Operator for Sekisui Specialties Inc. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Lisa (Jameson) Champion of Benton, KY., two sons, Jacob Champion of Benton, KY and Justin Champion of Benton, KY, two brothers, Phillip Champion of Paducah, KY and Darrel Champion of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Brenda Champion and Anita Adams.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Rev. Don Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
