G. V. Dunkerson

Mr. G. V. Dunkerson, Sr., 86, of Kevil, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah. Mr. Glendal Vernon Dunkerson was a Republican and a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved his family. Mr. Dunkerson had a long career in the aerospace industry, working on the man moon missions followed by a second career in hospital support management in the Saudi Arabia. He is survived by a son, Glen Dunkerson, Jr. (Gina) of Kevil, KY; four sisters, Velvadeen Jacobs of Ledbetter, KY, Nelda DeWeese of Grand Rivers, KY, Mary Croft of Salem, KY, and Sammie Porter of Salem, KY; one brother, Gary Dunkerson of Salem, KY; two grandchildren, Kristopher Dunkerson (Vanessa) of Bowling Green, KY and Lauren Russell (Jeremiah) of Paducah, KY; and four great grandchildren, Nathaniel Dunkerson, Madeline Dunkerson, Athena Russell and Nicklaus Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Gostal Dunkerson and Wilma Lee Riley Dunkerson; and one brother, Aubrey Lee Dunkerson. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in Dyer Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services in Salem, KY.
