Charles “Sonny” Fondaw gained his wings to heaven at his Ledbetter home on June 22nd, 2016 at the young age of 70.
Before Sonny got sick he was always outdoors tinkering around with anything he could get his hands on. All the getting sick limited some of the things he could do. He never stopped or slowed down. He was also the president of the F.O.E. #3135 where he was well respected and looked up to. Never once did he meet a stranger and always had a story to cheer up a sad soul if saw one.
Sonny is survived by his longtime companion and best friend, June House; as well as his children, Chuck Fondaw, Larry and Wanda Fondaw, Jessica Fondaw Watson, Linda Foley, Debbie Wright, Brenda Talley, and Diane Calhoun. He has 11 grandkids; 10 great grandkids; 2 great great grandkids; 7 brothers and sisters; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family, with special acknowledgement to aunt Sharon Fondaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph R. and Geneva Clapp Fondaw; and his late wife, Martha Fondaw.
Only God knows why it was Sonny’s time to go, but remember when you think about Sonny, he wouldn’t want anyone sad or crying because this isn’t goodbye, only until we meet again. So until that time, know he is always with all of us watching and waiting.
Services will be held Sunday, June 26th, 2016 at the Senior Citizens Building in Ledbetter at 1:30pm. There will be a potluck afterwards.
